RE: GUSTAV - I saw on CNN's site that the Republicans are considering turning their convention into a telethon to raise money for Gustav disaster relief, the Red Cross, etc.
What would be really nice is if McCain and Obama could come together and do this (maybe the RNC could invite him?, or maybe neutral ground would work better). Wouldn't it be something to see McCain, Obama, Bidden and Sara (and maybe the Clintons) all onstage together to do something like this ... to rise above the fray and turn this impending disaster into a new day for our country??? It would be CHANGE I could believe in!!!
I was at the rally at Dublin. The spirit and enthusiasm was amazing! The people of Ohio have had "enough"!!!! Barack and Biden is exactly what this country needs ! YES WE CAN !!!!
I recognized the emotion and even some
of the rhetoric that "president Shephard" used in the film "american
President" spoken by Barcak Obama at
the Convention and I grinned from ear-to-ear..he finally answered the Blowhards across party lines with one
sublime statement..."Enough"
Bravo!!!!
I am a Canadian and want to vote for Obama. You deserve a president that the world will listen to, why is the world watching this election? I will tell you why. We are all hoping that Americans this time can see clearly that this is an exceptional leader that has a vision and ideas.
Change will come from within, Obama's job is to inspire you enough to start.
Who can doubt that he has not done that.
But its all bout votes. For God sake dont fall for Republican ad's.
Sen. Obama, I was brought up by a single father, your life is a certified conformed copy of my own. Go out there tell your fellow Americans not to hesitate to cast their ballot for JoBama, they will gain the proud of what that means to be American. This was until your country went to war, a honour but that is changed into a chame today. Please go out there and restore that for me. I love You guy, there is your chance to prouve that nothing is impossible and that impossible is not American. Aksanti sana Bwana. DR Congo is watching you.
Obama and Biden are what this country needs. I pray they continue to attack McCain on the issues and that they are not soft on Palin, if the republicans get re-elected all the hard work women have done to get equality will slowly go away. All women should stand up and say no when it comes to the republican party.
At different points during the rally, two people had fainted (most likely because of the heat). Once while Sherrod Brown was speaking, and once while Obama was speaking.
During Obama's speech when the 2nd person fainted, Obama gave that person one of the bottles of water from his own supply. He didn't do it because he needed votes. He didn't do it for show. He did it because it was the right thing to do, and because he felt that person needed the water more than he did.
That simple gesture tells me that Obama is a Servant Leader. This, along with his ideas for change and the plan he has to implement that change, secures my vote this election.
I was at the Dublin Rally last night and it was amazing! The crowd was so enthusiastic, and the message was clear. Time for change! I have been proudly volunteering for Obama, and it is the first time that I have worked for a presidential campaign. I first became interested in Obama when I saw his speech at the 2004 Convention, and then read his books. I was so inspired, that I told everyone that I knew that this man will be president someday. It felt like watching history in the making last night!
Senator, you bring more than great words to us in this age; you bring more than the promise of change, standing evident of that as the Democratic presidential nominee; you even bring more than the hope of which we have been sorely deprived.
Sir, you bring us the whole package. Your words are awe-inspiring; your promise of change is a solemn promise by your mere political stance; and as the world watches what America does today...it rallies a hope that rings from every spot on the globe.
I only ask that you please deliver. I will do my part, faithful that you will be granted yours. Please stay strong in your deliverance - you are about to become the leader of the world. Please restore America as a leader by example and not by power as you promise. Please balance the intake of our government's pocket.
Please mean it, sir. If you mean what you say about tomorrow, what you say today will chime forever.
Words can't convey the connection that I feel with Senator Obama. I also never knew my father, and after I lost my mother at the age of 15, I came to seek out my father to learn who I was. However, he died not long after I arrived in CA. I've grown up never being connected to anyone or anything, until now. I truly never really cared who the president was or what the party did, until I was first able to vote for President Clinton - My first time voting. But now, I truly care about everything; war, healthcare and especially college affordability. You see I pray to be able to finally get my chance to go to college and get my degree for my own self-esteem growth.
I am now disabled, but I say thank you for making your life so transparent and yet inspiring me to hope for my educational success. I pray for you, your family, and the Biden Family everyday. I also feel that you both "should" go to Louisiana and help get those people out before it's too late and show the world "How Ready You Are" in the time of crisis. I love you and God Bless you
